In its emergency response initiatives, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints calls upon all its resources, which include food production and processing, donated used clothing, employment, and social/emotional services, spiritual support, and the ability to purchase goods locally in many parts of the world.  With these resources, it offers immediate emergency assistance to victims of natural and man-made disasters by providing short-term, life-sustaining resources such as food, water, shelter, clothing, medical, school, and hygiene supplies, and critically needed services. It promotes individual and family disaster preparedness through training programs and materials. Under the direction of local leadership, Church volunteers distribute supplies, participate in cleanup efforts, and assist other relief organizations to help disaster victims recover.

We live through crises of immense magnitude and sometimes feel so insignificant in comparison. We differ from the world in that the Church has true significance and carries answers to so many of the problems around us. We believe, maybe more than ever, that the church must be ready to respond to humanitarian crises, pandemics, and disasters of all kinds.

Jesus is the only hope for all that is going on and the church is called to display His love and hope in the toughest times! Matthew 24:6-8, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains."

Acts of Mercy is the international disaster relief arm of the Antioch Movement and we have an affiliate chapter here at CrossBridge to respond to both local and international disasters. We mobilize believers who are medical professionals and trained first responders to bring prompt, physical, and spiritual care in times of crisis.

With long-term recovery in mind, we partner with the Acts of Mercy Development team in Waco and other chapters across the nation to respond to crises. If you are a medical professional, a first responder, trained in security and logistics, or someone who can be an “all hands on deck” kind of person, we encourage you to prayerfully consider joining our Acts of Mercy chapter at CrossBridge. In-person or online training is provided to get you practically and spiritually prepared to respond to disasters all around the world.

Mission Presbytery is dedicated to helping mitigate disasters before they happen, respond with aid when they do, and stay through the recovery helping to rebuild lives, families, and the community.

We usually support other agencies with volunteers, equipment, and financial aid. Mission Presbytery also hosts/houses volunteers who respond to an area after a disaster. Our organization is not set up to help at the individual level, that is where each of the churches comes in, we serve other agencies, volunteers, and first responders.

In the chaos of a natural disaster, many evacuees lack the time or space to bring many items, especially diapers, wipes, and other healthcare products.

Meanwhile, neither federal nor international disaster relief programs include diapers.

The Texas Diaper Bank fills this gap by providing these healthcare products, without which diaper rash that requires medical treatment may develop, and when treatment is not available, serious or even fatal complications may occur.
