The Comal County Emergency Relief Fund is a fund of the New Braunfels Community Foundation seeded during a time of crisis by the community, for the community. This community will always be here to help care for our neighbors struggling through episodic crises to ensure they return to stability.
Beginning in October of 2022 the McKenna Foundation and the City of New Braunfels, together with the New Braunfels Food Bank, the Family Life Center, Community Council, and the Salvation Army partnered to provide $500,000 in utility assistance to assist income-constrained households within the New Braunfels city limits. As of 12/1/2023 the Comal Emergency Relief Fund’s coordination of the program is complete and residents in need should access the current NBU Assistance program, coordinated by the New Braunfels Food Bank, at the link below.
The NBU Utility Bill Assistance Program is designed to aid families and individuals in our Comal & Guadalupe county service area who are experiencing extreme hardship and financial need. This collaboration allows the New Braunfels Food Bank to accept applications and determine the amount of assistance that can be provided to customers. This can help pay for electric, water and wastewater charges on your bill. |
