Tenant-Based Rental Assistance provides rental subsidies and security or utility deposits to low-income individuals and families. The program assists participants in securing decent, safe housing in the private market and pays a portion of their rent and deposits. Housing subsidies are generally provided for up to twenty-four months while the household actively participates in a self-sufficiency program.

To qualify, applicants must reside in the service area and have a household income less than or equal to 80% of the Area Median Family Income, as defined by HUD. Priority or set-aside funding may be available for persons with disabilities or those affected by a natural disaster.
