Project UPLIFT is an 8-week home-based depression treatment program for adults with epilepsy.
The program is delivered virtually or by telephone and is co-led by a trained mental health facilitator and a peer living with epilepsy. It combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to help participants change their relationship with negative thoughts, reduce depression symptoms, and improve overall quality of life.
Group delivery provides a support system among peers with epilepsy without the need for transportation.
Adults 18 years or older who are diagnosed with epilepsy, can read and write in English, and have access to a phone or internet for the 8 weekly sessions.
Contact EFCST for fee information, though self-management programs are typically offered free of charge or covered by grants.
