The San Antonio AIDS Foundation provides a continuum of care to low-income HIV-positive men, women, and transgender individuals. Money Smart Classes: Case management staff, in partnership with financial organizations trained in FDIC curriculum, offer quarterly Money Smart classes at our public housing communities. Topics include: borrowing basics, pay yourself first, banking services, budgeting, repairing your credit, and homeownership.

Back To School Drives: FSS case managers organize back-to-school drives to help residents with costs of school supplies. The funds raised pay for school supplies, uniforms, immunizations and haircuts.

Health Fairs: Case managers participate in and support community health fairs.

Employment Fairs: Family Self-sufficiency provides residents information on upcoming job fairs and assists with transportation, resume preparation, interview technique and necessary job skills.

Summer Youth Employment: HABC provides youth, ages 14 to 24, the opportunity to learn on-the-job training during the summer months. Employment may be with HABC or with one of our partners.

Native Pathways serves low income, unemployed or underemployed Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, and Native Hawaiians through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

The program is responsible for assisting Native American participants to prepare for and obtain high quality or career-based employment opportunities that will result in increased family income and financial security.

To meet its goals, Native Pathways has established long-term relationships and collaborations with various job-training providers such as vocational and educational institutions, employer partners, regional workforce development boards, and various job development or ancillary agencies.

To be eligible for this program you must:

  • Be a member of a Federally Recognized Tribe. 
  • Reside within Service Area (any of 122 West Texas counties). 
  • Be unemployed, underemployed (earning a wage below your skillset or working part-time but desiring full-time employment), low-income, or seeking job training assistance.

The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program aims to help residents achieve economic independence in five years.

The self-paced, voluntary program helps Public Housing residents and Housing Choice Voucher Program participants set goals to achieve in five years and earn an escrow check following program completion.
