National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for and participation in, local anti-crime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The purpose of National Night Out is to build strong partnerships between the police and communities and to promote crime awareness programs such as Neighborhood Community Watch groups. According to NATW, last year's event was the largest ever, involving 38 million people in 16,000 communities from all 50 states, US territories, and military bases worldwide.

Neighborhoods throughout the community are encouraged to lock their doors, turn on their porch lights, gather with their neighbors to show unity against criminal activity and join City Council Members, other city officials, and public safety personnel. Many neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, swimming parties, cookouts, and various other activities.

Our newest program CARE connects families with a certified parent educator that provides the support they need to move from surviving to thriving. CARE is a free program that is designed to assist parents through mentoring, support and education. CARE will help provide a positive support system, will teach problem solving skills, connect you with resources and much more! We believe supporting healthy families builds a healthy community.

Family Well-Being: PAT educators believe anyone that is anyone that is important to your child is important to us. We work hard to support families and promote healthy family relationships.

Development-Centered Parenting: When parents are familiar with their child’s developmental milestones, they are more likely to have appropriate expectations in regard to their child’s behaviors, actions and reactions. PAT educators are trained experts in developmental milestones from birth to kindergarten!

Positive Parent Child Interaction: During each home visit, a parent-child activity will take place that encourages positive parent-child interaction AND facilities learning. Because a child’s brain grows the fastest the first 5 years of life, consistent and positive engagement is key!

Any family with a child of any age.

We live in a complicated and fast-moving society. Stress can affect other emotions such as negative anger. Stress can be defined as a mismatch between an individual’s coping skills and the demands of their life.

The Life Skills for Living Program centers on altering a person’s usual negative response to stress to a new altered response. This altered response involves creating a process to change our techniques in the way we think, feel, and act during stressful periods that we all experience.

FUNdamental Sports includes three core principles:

  • Foundational Skills
  • Unified Partners
  • No Limits

This program establishes individualized programs for athletes ages two and older who, due to their physical and/or developmental abilities, are working on foundational motor skills to prepare them for possible competitions in official Special Olympics events.

As the athlete learns the sport progressions, he/she comes closer to acquiring skills considered essential for participation in official Special Olympics competitions and daily life activities.

FUNdamental Sports athletes participate in a variety of sports that have been adapted to accommodate all ability levels.

Participation is accomplished through the use of adapted equipment and physical assistance that are matched to the individual’s level of need. Athletes are not limited in the number or types of equipment and assistance that is used in order to achieve success.

Through the inclusion of Unified Partners as one-on-one assistants, the athletes and partners have the opportunity to develop friendships. Additionally, the Unified Partners will have the opportunity to grow in their awareness of the athletes’ unique abilities.
